We are Sea Scouts Ship 12, based in Glen Cove, New York. We are a unit of the Boy Scouts of America, although our organization and programming is different from Boy Scouting. (For more information about Sea Scouts, visit www.seascout.org.)

Our members are boys and girls between 14 and 20 who share an interest in maritime activities, both recreational and occupational. Our sponsors are the City of Glen Cove’s Parks and Recreation Department, and the Glen Cove Lions Club. Glen Cove residency is NOT required.

Ship 12 generally meets from 2000 (8:00 p.m.) to 2130 (9:30 p.m.) on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month (holidays notwithstanding) during the school year, at the Glen Cove Yacht Club (click here for directions).

Summer meetings will often coincide with water activity, and are held at 1900 (7:00 p.m.) to 2130 (9:30 p.m.) on each Thursday at the Glen Cove Yacht Club.

Check the Calendar on this Web site for up-to-date meeting information.

Visitors are welcome: please e-mail us with any questions.

In addition to our meetings, we try to schedule at least one outing or activity each month. Examples of these can be found by clicking on the Activities button on the left.
